THE FLIGHT FOR CANCER FIGHT TEAM WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2010 BY PILOT MICHAEL SULLIVAN.
The goal is to raise funds and awareness for research for the Cancer Council. Teaming up with a handful of members from Nowra, Sydney and the Gold Coast, the Flight for Cancer Fight team set about the planning for the fundraising event which took place in the Nowra and Berry area between February and May 2010. This was the first fundraiser for the Flight for Cancer Fight team. The flight started on the 21 June 2010 in Townsville NQLD and finished in Broome WA. The flight followed the main highways to Mt Isa, Katherine to Broome stopping at each town and city along the way to fundraise. The Flight for Cancer Fight event has grown for the 2012 event with 3 Microlights participating. The new route will be from Nowra to Goulbourn up through central NSW, QLD to Mount Isa and onto Broome again following the main highways.
